How to move around?
Rent a car:
The most convinient way to travel around the country is hiring a car to have freedom to discover the hidden gems. Not my favorite transportation however if you want to save time on transits and want to get straight to your destination this the best option
Bookaway:
Recently i tested this webpage as i needed a transport to Santa Tere. I found it very convenient to book trips between tourist towns for a reliable price. The experience was really good, avoiding the bus stations made the trip very easy.
Public Buses:
As in every country using the bus is always the cheaper and local option. If you are traveling on a budget is definitely the go to option specially here where other alternatives usually try to scam tourists. Be aware of your belongings if you have to travel by night and a rule of thumb never loss sight of your valuable items.
Moovitapp usually works when you need to find info about routes and departure times.
Apps:
Whe you arrive to San Jose airport locals always recommend taking an Uber as the orange cabs are overpriced. The app (Uber-Didi) works great in most big cities and some big tourist town. If it's available it is a good option to save time & money.
